White Chocolate Peppermint Bark

Ready for another quick and easy 10 minute treat?  White Chocolate Peppermint Bark is so quick and easy and the perfect treat for anyone who loves peppermint and white chocolate.  If you’re short on time and need to take a treat to a party, this is a perfect choice.

Here’s how I whipped this yummy bark up in 10 minutes or less…

easypeppermintbark-3_fotor

I started by unwrapping a box of candy canes.  I used Brach’s candy canes.  They have natural peppermint flavoring versus other’s that have imitation…

I placed them in a bag.  I recommend a freezer bag, not the thinner one like in the picture above that some idiot used…

Then I used a heavy knife handle and crushed the candy into smaller pieces and some into actual powder and set it aside…

Next I opened a bag of good quality white chocolate chips…

And poured the chips into a large bowl…

I melted the chocolate in my microwave for 30 seconds, stirred it and melted it for thirty more seconds and stirred it until melted and smooth…

Next I opened a bottle of pure Peppermint Oil.  You can buy this in the cake decorating section at any store such as Meijer’s or Michaels…

I added 1/4 teaspoon of the Peppermint Oil and the crushed candy to the melted chocolate…

And I spread the candy mixture into a foil lined 8 x 8 dish and let it cool.  It’s in the 30’s here, so I just set it outside on my deck for 10 minutes and it was set…

Then I used my hands and broke it up into large pieces of whatever size and shape.  This candy isn’t meant to be scored and cut into perfect size pieces…

And that’s it…This candy will keep for weeks in an airtight container.

Note:  If you make this, don’t mix it in with other candy or the other candy will take on the taste of the peppermint.

Make this today…you know you have 10 minutes…

Enjoy!

Description

A three ingredient pure peppermint White Chocolate bark.

Ingredients

  • 1 bag good quality chocolate chips, 11-12 ounces
  • 1/4 teaspoon pure Peppermint Oil
  • 1 box, 6 ounces, good quality candy canes, such as Brach’s

Instructions

  1. Line a 8 x 8 dish with foil, allowing foil to hand over edges for easy removal.
  2. Unwrap the candy canes and place them in a thick plastic bag, such as a freezer bag. Use a heavy knife handle or rolling pin to break the candy into small pieces and set aside.
  3. Pour the chocolate chips into a medium or large bowl and microwave for 30 seconds. Stir once with a spoon and microwave for 30 more seconds. Mix until smooth.
  4. Add the Peppermint Oil and crushed candy canes, including all of the fine powdered crumbs.
  5. Mix and spread into the foil lined dish and set in a freezer or cold area for a few minutes until candy has set.
  6. Using your hands, break candy into various pieces, not uniform size pieces. This candy is meant to be rustic and in different sizes and shapes.
  7. Store candy in an airtight container.

Notes

  • Candy will keep for several weeks in an airtight container.
  • Store Peppermint Bark separate from other candies or treats or they will take on the peppermint flavor of the bark.
