Ingredients

  • Option #1 – From Scratch
  • 1 stick real butter
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
  • 3/4 cup milk
  • 1 large can sliced peaches in syrup, 28 ounces
  • Dash cinnamon
  • Turbinado Sugar, optional
  • Option #2 – Jiffy Baking Mix
  • 1 stick real butter
  • 2 cups Jiffy Baking Mix
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla
  • 1 large can sliced peaches in syrup, 28 ounces
  • Dash Cinnamon
  • Turbinado Sugar, optional

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
  2. Option #1 – From Scratch
  3. Melt butter in a 9″ deep dish pie dish, or a 9″ x 9″ baking dish.
  4. In a medium mixing bowl, mix the sugar, flour, baking powder and salt together with a fork.
  5. Add the vanilla and milk and mix until all ingredients are incorporated.
  6. Pour the batter over the melted butter and do not stir the mixture.
  7. Pour the peaches over top of the batter and once again do not stir.
  8. Sprinkle cinnamon lightly over the peaches.
  9. Bake for approximately 40-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  10. Serve hot with Ice Cream!
  11. Option #2 – Jiffy Baking Mix
  12. Melt the butter in a 9″ deep dish pie dish or a 9″ x 9″ baking dish.
  13. Mix together the Jiffy Baking Mix, sugar , milk and vanilla in a medium bowl.
  14. Pour the batter over the melted butter, but do not stir.
  15. Pour the peaches with syrup over the batter, but do not stir.
  16. Sprinkle the peaches lightly with cinnamon.
  17. Bake for approximately 40-45 minutes until the crust is golden brown.
  18. Serve hot with Ice Cream!

Notes

  • The Turbinado sugar is optional for a pretty sparkle on the cobbler. If using turbinado sugar, let cobbler bake for about twenty minutes, then sprinkle the sugar over the cobbler and finish baking.
